According to the information given by the Presidency of the Assembly of the Republic, the Committee held its first meeting with the National Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey chaired by Emrullah İşler.

In his speech at the meeting, Commission Chairman Emrullah İşler stated that they attach great importance to strengthening the TRNC and increasing its welfare level, and in this context, it is very important for the Turkish Cypriots to be accepted as an observer member in the Organization of Turkic States in order to make their just cause heard, and as the Republic of Turkey, they are very pleased to be instrumental in this.

Özdemir Berova In his speech, he said that the two countries attach great importance to inter-parliamentary relations.

Berova said that the relations between the Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey continue in the same line, that the people of the TRNC and Turkey are like flesh and nail, that the Turkish Cypriot people struggled under various embargoes, but always continued on their way with the support of Motherland Turkey.

Berova said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's call to “recognize the TRNC” under the umbrella of the United Nations was a turning point for the Turkish Cypriot people and that this call was “welcomed with great enthusiasm and happiness” in the TRNC.

Berova stated that it is very important to take the necessary steps regarding the embargoes imposed on the TRNC, especially in the field of sports.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee Filiz Besim, In addition to the embargoes imposed in the field of sports, he also stated that there are very valuable writers in the TRNC and that the necessary arrangements should be made to pave the way for the distribution of their works in Turkey.
